Course Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. To ensure fairness and maintain the quality of our training programs, we have established the following cancellation and refund policy:

Durham First Aid (DFA) offers a variety of courses to meet the needs of caregivers, employers, WSIB, and the public. Please ensure you book the correct course and version for your requirements. For example, courses ending in “-A” cover adult first aid, while “-C” includes children and babies. DFA is not responsible for any refunds or administration fees should you book the wrong course. Cancellation & Refund Policy – Certification Courses

Full Refund

  • Cancellations made 7 or more calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 100% refund.

Partial Refund

  • Cancellations made between 7 and 3 calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 50% refund.

No Refund

  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of the course start time.

Rescheduling a certification course can be done by calling the office at (905) 240-0092 a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of the course. Rescheduling of a certification course is subject to a $25.00 administration fee. 

Cancellation & Refund Policy – Instructor and Advanced Training Courses

Full Refund

  • Cancellations made 14 or more calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 100% refund.

Partial Refund

  • Cancellations made between 13 and 8 calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 50% refund.

No Refund

  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 calendar days prior to the course start time.

Rescheduling an instructor or advanced training course can be done by calling the office at (905) 240-0092 a minimum of 4 calendar days prior to the start of the course.  Rescheduling of an instructor or advanced training course is subject to a $200.00 administration fee. 

Cancellation & Refund Policy – Private Bookings

For organizations or private bookings of 8 people or above, the following cancellation and refund policy applies:

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the maximum course capacity is required on booking. For example, if the total capacity is 30 people, a deposit equivalent to 15 registrations is required based on the quoted cost.  

Individual Cancellations:

Full Refund

  • Individual cancellations above and beyond the deposit amount that are made 7 or more calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 100% refund.

Partial Refund

  • Individual cancellations above and beyond the deposit amount that are made between 7 and 3 calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 50% refund.

No Refund

  • No refunds or invoice adjustments will be issued for individual cancellations made within 48 hours of the course start time.

Course Cancellations:

No refunds will be given for the deposit paid at the time of course booking. Should a change need to be made to the course dates, please contact the Durham First Aid office at (905) 240-0092 a minimum of 14 calendar days prior to the course start date to make arrangements. An administration fee of $100.00 will be charged.

Cancellation & Refund Policy – Provider Cancellations

In the event that Durham First Aid Inc. needs to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. insufficient numbers to run the course or instructor illness), we will:

  • Transfer the learner into an alternate course date, at no additional cost to the learner.
  • Issue a full refund only if no alternate course date is available.
