To become a Red Cross First Aid Instructor is a 5 step process (all components to be completed with Durham First Aid Inc.):
- Skills Assessment (if skills are not performed to Red Cross Standard, candidates will take an SFA – C with Durham First Aid Inc. and will be required and provided free of charge between Step 2 & 3).
- Red Cross Fundamentals of Instruction online + 2 days in class
- Discipline Specific Classroom component (First Aid and CPR/AED) 2 days in class
- Online Component + Teaching Experience
- Certification
The price of the course includes all of the above components of the course.
Upon successful completion of the course and teaching experience, as a Red Cross instructor you will be able to facilitate the following courses for a Training Partner of the Canadian Red Cross:
- CPR/AED Levels A & C + Recertifications
- Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Levels A & C
- Standard First Aid CPR/AED Levels A & C + Recertifications
- Marine Basic First Aid and CPR/AED Levels A & C
