A Unique Setting for Remote and Wilderness First Aid Training

Durham First Aid Logo

Camp Samac gives students the opportunity to practise Remote and Wilderness First Aid skills in an environment that goes beyond the traditional classroom.

While many of Durham First Aid’s courses can be taught in the spacious indoor training room, the Camp Samac property is particularly valuable for Remote and Wilderness First Aid programs.

Outdoor scenarios can take students onto the property’s trails and natural spaces, allowing them to practise assessment, decision-making, patient care and emergency response techniques in surroundings that more closely resemble the environments where these skills may actually be needed.

Camp Samac itself includes extensive forested areas, hiking trails and year-round outdoor spaces, making the setting especially well suited to this type of experiential training.
