Standard First Aid & CPR/AED (Levels A, C or BLS/HCP)

Comprehensive course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home.

Course Delivery Options:

  • The Traditional Classroom has an interactive in the classroom experience where learners gain all the first aid knowledge and skills practice led by a First Aid Instructor. This is a 2 day course.
  • The Blended Learning has a mix of knowledge obtained online through independent learning and classroom skills. Once registered you will receive your own unique log in to the Red Cross portal to access the online portion of the course. The online portion needs to be completed before the scheduled skills session. This is just 1 in class day.

The following are prerequisites for taking the Standard First Aid recertification (you must meet all three)

  • That the chosen course date is before your current card expiry date
  • That the last course you took was a full Standard First Aid course, not a 1 day recertification.
  • That your current certificate was provided by the Canadian Red Cross

Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED (Levels A, C, or BLS/HCP)

Basic First Aid course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid for workplaces with fewer than 5 employees. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED. CPR/AED Levels A, C, or BLS/HCP

Canadian Red Cross Certification in CPR/AED includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. Courses meet legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Babysitter Course

Our experienced Youth Leaders will provide a course in basic first aid and care-giving skills. Learners learn how to provide care to younger children from a variety of age groups and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents. Help your child build valuable skills for a lifetime, as a trained babysitter. Stay Safe! (Alone @ Home)

A youth program for ages 9 – 13, developed by the Canadian Red Cross to teach safety awareness and first aid skills to elementary school-aged children. Lessons taught by the Youth Leaders are supported by an interactive workbook. Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR/AED, Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy

Three Certifications, one day.

This course is designed to build learner confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, team CPR, and perform rapid defibrillation (AED). Course includes Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy.

Who should take this course? In-facility care providers, including nursing staff, care aides, medical and dental professionals. Pre-hospital care providers, which may include professionals in a fire service, rescue team, sports-medicine, and ski patrol.

Airway Management

This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to create a patient’s airway, the interventions to maintain it, and the equipment available to carry out these skills. Learners will gain the knowledge and skills required to provide the appropriate interventions, including measuring and inserting the applicable airway adjunct based on the patient’s condition. Course can also be combined with Basic Life Support training for additional certification, click here to register for BLS.

Oxygen Therapy

Designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to correctly identify when it is necessary to administer supplemental oxygen. Learners will learn how to properly and safely handle and assemble the equipment and how to correctly deliver supplemental oxygen through the appropriate delivery device. Marine Basic First Aid & CPR/AED Level C

Designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to apply immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness on board a vessel. Learners will gain knowledge of marine first aid equipment, and the transferring of patients from a ship. Aspects of course are focused in a marine setting. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008E.​

Marine Advanced First Aid & CPR/AED Level BLS

Comprehensive first aid and CPR techniques and scenarios for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in a marine setting. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008. Designed for any person who wants to obtain a rating certificate, endorsement, or a Master or Officer certification, and for those providing first aid on board a vessel engaged on a near-coastal voyage, class 1, or on board a vessel on unlimited waters.

Course Length: Minimum 31 hours
1-year certification for BLS, 3 year certification for Advanced Marine First Aid

Psychological First Aid

This course is designed to recognize but not diagnose those that are in a mental health crisis and provide emergency support to those individuals suffering from high stress levels, burnout and suicidal thoughts (and actions) are at an all-time high in areas such as workplaces, schools, indigenous communities and among professional responders. The course focuses on self-care and care for others.

The Red Cross Psychological First Aid Program broadens the focus of training from a crisis-centred approach to one of resiliency-building, which is more effective at improving outcomes for individuals and others in their care. The program uses the latest evidence-based research, with case-based learning that focuses on self-care, personal protection, loss, trauma and stress. The Red Cross Psychological First Aid Program also supports and complements other existing wellness education programs.

First Responder

First aid and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders (Fire fighters, volunteer firefighters, police officers, 911 dispatch, patient transfer, race rescue, etc). Course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

Course provides the knowledge and skills that are necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness for those functioning as a member of the health care team in a pre-hospital setting.

Course is for those providing a professional level of emergency response including firefighters, law-enforcement officers, and emergency medical services personnel. Includes BLS CPR and AED. Comprehensive first aid and CPR techniques for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in isolated or wilderness settings. Training is also suitable for those who act as guides or supervisors for groups of people.

The course covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus advanced strategies for providing extended care for more than 24 hours. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.

Course is for those outdoor enthusiast that are looking to learn about how to help someone in a remote setting. Wilderness & Remote First Aid

By taking this 20 hour Bridge Course we will prepare you  to provide care to individuals overnight or for extended period of time.
